How Do I Get Started Selling Avon ? Follow These 7 Steps To Success

Whether you have just started our Avon business or are just looking for ways to get back on track, below are some simple common sense strategies to get you headed in the right direction.  However, just because they are simple, don’t discount their relevance in building the business of our dreams.  Remember, what is easy to do is also easy not to do!

Here we go:

Set your schedule – set a realistic schedule for promoting your business and stick to it.  You must treat your Avon business like the viable business that it is.  Too many people treat it as a hobby and it ends out paying you like a hobby.  If it is 5 hours a week that you can devote to your business – then stick to that.  By remaining consistent in your business you build momentum and that is what grows businesses.

Have a plan – What exactly is your plan?  How much money do you want to make?  In what period of time?  What methods and strategies will you use to achieve these goals?  What is the most efficient and productive use of your time in achieving these goals?  Should you leverage technology multiply your efforts?

Start with a reasonable goal – I have seen too many distributors get caught up in the dream of it all and then have nothing come to fruition.  A good starting point might be to generate enough income to pay for your mortgage each month, and then perhaps add your car once you achieve that goal.  Once you start achieving your goals you will build momentum to reach higher goals.

Have an entrepreneur mentality – not en employee mentality – Too many distributors embark on their entrepreneurial journey and still behave like an employee.  This is your baby and you can do it!  Use your upline as support, but remember that you are the CEO of our company and “if it’s gonna be it’s up to me!”.  The only person you have to answer to is yourself – which is both a blessing and a curse!  For more insight as what an entrepreneur vs. an employee mindset looks like, check out Robert Kiyosaki’s book The Cash Flow Quadrant.

Stay motivated – Ben Franklin was quoted, after being questioned about having failed  over 9,000 times trying to invent the light bulb, “I haven’t failed, I have just discovered 9,000 ways not to invent the light bulb”.  As an entrepreneur, you must fill your mind with positive, motivating material every day.  Make it a point to schedule at least 15 minutes to listen to audios or read books that keep your mind in the right place.  It is easy to get off track and discouraged if things aren’t going quite as planned – but keep with it.  You have the product and you have the demand – just keep at it.

Have realistic expectations – In addition to setting realistic goals, have realistic expectations of yourself.  Starting a new venture, coupled with your already full calendar as a mother, sister, wife, girlfriend, grandmother, house maker, friend, fiancé, co-worker (you get the point!) and now CEO can be daunting.  It will take time to improve your learning curve with regard to products and your skill set.  Whether you have chosen the traditional warm marketing strategy or have decided to leverage technology, there will be skills that you need to acquire.  But don’t let that stop you from starting – it will all come with time and consistent attention.

Help a lot of people – Let’s face it – there is a huge demand for beauty products especially anti-aging products.  There are over 76 million baby boomers (people born between 1945 and 1964) that are responsible for all huge trends from the microwave to the mini-van.  Now they don’t want to show their age and are therefore one of the driving forces in the anti-aging industry.   To help a lot of people you  have to reach a lot of people.  The most efficient and productive way to reach this market in online – in-fact the fastest growing demographic on Facebook is women over the age of 55!

As you probably know, one of the most important aspects of micro niche marketing is a high ranking in the search engines for a specific long tail keyword. Why? Because that is by far the most effective way to get a healthy stream of consistent and targeted traffic. Heck, if you work hard enough, there is no reason why you cannot have at least a thousand visitors a day. Wouldn’t that help you tremendously boost your profits?

So then, what must you do to get these high rankings? Well first things first. You need to select a few highly targeted long tail keywords. And of course, they need to get a certain degree of searches as well. Try to aim for about 100 a day. And of course, try to have as many of such words as possible. That way, you can capitalise on the search engine traffic of not just one or 2, but maybe even 10 words!

Now, once you have selected your words, this is where the fun begins. What you need to do is to head over to search engines and search for blogs in your niche. It’s best to check out the blogs that have a page rank (PR) of 4 and beyond. But if you are starved for options, feel free to use the ones with a lower PR. Once you are at these blogs, take a good look at the posts. And then, leave comments on them.

Make sure that these comments actually add value to the blog post/article. That way, people will take you seriously. If you just write something like “great post”, and then leave your link behind, you will be seen as a spammer. Whereas if you actually give feedback, or substantiate on the point raised the article and then leave your website link, you will get traffic directly from the blogs. But, your objective is not to get traffic from these blogs. That is simply a bonus.

What you need to do, when you leave your comments, is to hyperlink one of your selected keywords in your website URL. That way, search engines will view your website as highly relevant to the niche. And that will boost your rankings greatly. Simply do 10 a day, and you will have 3650 links at the end of the year. Pretty sweet eh?

So there you have it. It’s as simple as that. Simply follow this strategy and you will notice that you are getting much more out of your micro niche marketing efforts.

When it comes to pricing a residential or commercial cleaning job it is important to hit the mark accurately with a fair price. In this article we will look at a method for accurately estimating prices for cleaning jobs and offer some tips for quoting prices to customers.

Quoting a price too low means leaving money on the table and wasting an opportunity to profit. By offering to clean at a price level that is barely profitable you will be damaging the cleaning industry overall in your area and you will find it difficult to raise prices to a profitable level in the future. Trying to win customers by pricing low is clearly a bad strategy for getting started in the cleaning business.

Quoting too high means that you will often be declined by customers and may miss out on jobs unless your customers perceive that they will be getting above average quality services from you. Having an established brand that your prospects are familiar with is one way to be able to price higher than the market average. The other way is by offering truly unique services or having a highly effective sales strategy.

The best way to estimate a price is to firstly come up with an approximation of how long it will take to complete the job. Make a thorough inspection of the building in question, break the job down into the various tasks and then calculate the total time that it will take you or one of your workers to complete.

The next step is to take your time estimation and multiply it by a fair hourly rate to calculate the total labor cost for the job. Don’t forget to include traveling time.

A small allowance can then be added on for job related expenses such as cleaning products, transport costs and equipment expenses.

You should then add on another small allowance that can be put towards your monthly fixed costs such as rent, insurance and marketing costs. You can come up with a suitable figure by taking your total monthly overheads and dividing this by the average number of cleaning jobs that you do and month.

You will then have arrived at a figure that represents your total costs for the job. Finally, you can add on a suitable amount of profit and then you will have the total quote amount that you can put forward to the client.

When you are starting out you can compare your quotes to what your competitors would charge for a similar job to make sure that you are reasonably close to fair value for your services.

Don’t forget that the first time you do a cleaning job you will probably spend a lot longer then you will on subsequent visits. After you have cleaned the property once you will then have it in reasonable condition and you will be familiar with it. Many cleaning business operators charge an additional fee for the first visit and you can consider doing so on a case-by-case basis, depending on the state of the property in question.

If you are pricing by the hour you should never let your customer know this. If you have quoted them for a three-hour job and they catch you leaving after two hours, then they may feel cheated. Quote a price for completing the job rather than an hourly rate if you can get away with it.

Price estimation in the cleaning business, or any service business for that matter takes time and skill to get right. Successful cleaning business operators start off with a good pricing system and then try to constantly perfect this system over time.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: “People buy when THEY’RE ready to buy … and NOT BEFORE!”

Nearly 7 out of 10 people who say “No thanks” today will say “Yes!” inside 12 months.

Let that sink in for a moment… that means you need to keep asking, or put in a more more palatable way – keep following up.

But who has time? I mean it’s tedious, boring work isn’t it? Remembering to send that email, to mail that card, to call that client. Ick…

And the rejection. The voicemail tag. It’s enough to make you want to run away and join the circus.

But what if there was a better way? What if there was a way whereby a hundred digital hands lifted you up and did all the ‘dirty work’ so you didn’t have to?

Well I can tell you that this ‘nirvana’ exists and has done so for quite some time. Welcome to the wonderful world of marketing automation – and in this particular fairy tale: marketing automation software.

Of course, in this story the tale is true. No monsters, damsels in distress and toads to kiss. Nope, simply a case of clarity, describing the process you undertake when courting a client (marketing or selling to them) and then automating it.

I’ve been doing this for years, more than 25 to be exact. Of course to be fair in the beginning I sucked at it. Most folks do when they start out, of course it was the 1980’s and technology was a blunt instrument – but what the heck, we tried 😉

Today the idea of automating marketing is not new, in fact it’s quite ‘old hat’ as solutions go. What does make it exciting for me though is the advances that have been made in technology over the past 20 or so years.

When I first started modeling business processes and then converting them to automated subroutines, the world was a very different place. Today those same “dumb systems” are capable of adapting and changing the flow of messaging based on the prospects interaction with the system!

That’s amazing. It’s bordering on adaptive logic. Maybe that’s too much technology to share here, but what it means is this – your sequence of follow up messages can adapt and change based on how the prospect reacts – imagine they react very strongly in a positive fashion, would you still keep dripping messages on them?

Heck no! You’d try a pre-close on them ASAP. And I’m betting it’d work too. And if it did not, you can still keep following up with abandon…

Why? Because YOU ARE NOT DOING THE HARD WORK! The system is. It’s so liberating using technology today, it’s why I write about it and why I spend a great deal of time exploring various solutions on the market today.

Here are just 2 of my favourites: And NO they’re not in the same league so don’t think this is a review comparison because it’s not.

Let’s start with EMAIL FOLLOW UP and the arguable leader of the pack: Aweber.

This marketing automation tool is definitely one of the main players in sequential email delivery. It even has some automation logic whereby you can be unsubscribed from one list (or flow of messages) when you join another. It’s pretty basic, but it’s rock solid and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants to only focus on email follow-up marketing.

Of course, if you want the full suite of follow-up technologies – including an email follow-up unlike any other, you really need to take a good look at Infusionsoft.

Now, in the spirit of full disclosure I should say that I am have an interest in both Aweber and Infusionsoft and in the case of the latter solution, I’m an Infusionsoft Certified Partner and Marketing Automation Coach or CMAC.

That doesn’t mean I don’t recommend Aweber – I do, but when I meet a client who wants to double there sales by fixing their follow up I have to recommend Infusionsoft because of its superior technology features.

For instance it can follow up with email, it can send letters, fax follow up, voicemail follow up, sales-force automation commands and so much more.

And like I mentioned above, it can ADAPT. Infusionsoft knows when a contact takes and action and can alter the approach it uses to following up with that contact. This along makes it worth the price of admission.

And the price for either solution is pocket change when you consider the increase to your business. So if you’re serious about marketing automation software then I urge you to (a) check out Aweber if you only want a sequential autoresponder, or (b) checkout Infusionsoft if you want the whole package and then some.
