Second option is he/she can work out a percentage out of the value of the property. So costlier the property, more money the solicitor gets paid. The third option is working on ‘per hour’ basis. The more the paperwork, the more fees charged. The first option will work out cheap for you, but not for the solicitor. So, most of the solicitors go with the second option. The third option will make you go bankrupt. So beware! A typical basic fee ranges from £300 – £ 1,200 + VAT. Disbursement is the money that the solicitor needs to pay others on your behalf.
