How to Remove Skin Tags Fast
Want to know how to remove skin tags? Got questions like is it safe to remove a skin tag and can you do it easily without a visit to the doctor? The good news is that most of the time skin tags pose no threat to your health. This said, a skin tag can be unsightly or unnerving to the person who has it. It is more of a cosmetic problem and there are many different ways to get rid of them quickly within the comfort of your home. In this article, I will discuss a few of these methods.
Castor oil Castor oil is one of those ingredients that works on a lot of different skin related problems. It works on tags as well. Here is the method-
Take some castor oil and mix it with baking soda until it forms a paste. Because castor oil is smelly (to say the least), I also recommend adding a couple drops of peppermint or lemon oil to it to help with the smell.
Wash the affected area and liberally apply the paste to the skin tag.
Repeat this 3 times a day until it is gone.
Typically this method takes roughly 2-4 weeks for it to go away. For those of you looking for a quicker method, you can try two separate methods that have been noted to work very quickly. I must give you a warning though….these methods of skin tag removal don’t come without a little pain….
Cut it off– This is perhaps the quickest way to handle a skin tag problem. But this method is not for the weak-kneed.
Take a pair of scissors OR fingernail clippers and disinfect them with alcohol.
Liberally rub rubbing alcohol on your skin tag.
Snip it from the base and then cover with a band aid to help stop the bleeding.
The problem with this method is that there is no guarantee that it won’t grow back in a week or so.
Using Fingernail Polish to remove a skin tag– This is another popular method to removing a skin growth. The idea is to starve it of oxygen. Another variation of this method is to use duct tape as well.
Take some clear fingernail polish and thoroughly cover the skin tag.
Repeat the process 2 times a day until the tag shrinks up and falls off.
This is just a few common ways to remove a skin growth. There are hundreds of other ways to do so…some using common household items..others using herbal extracts. What I am really trying to get at is that most of the time, you don’t need to head to a doctor to remove one.
